Sidney Remembrance Day Parade, Ceremony & Events
Remembrance Day Parade & Ceremony – November 11th, 2012 from 10:15 – 11:00 am
The Town of Sidney will honour Remembrance Day with a Parade starting at 10:15 am at the Mary Winspear Centre. The Parade will march through Sidney to the War Memorial on the front law of the Town Hall for service and wreath laying.
Remembrance Day is a day to honour those who served and lost their lives in the line of duty. Hostilities formally ended on the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month when an Armistice was signed between Germany and the Entente.
Everyone is welcome to attend the Parade and Ceremony to honour Remembrance Day.
Fauré’s Requiem Concert – November 11th, 2012
This Remembrance Day concert features Gabriel Faure’s Requiem Op 48 and will be held Sunday, November 11th at 3:00 pm at Saint Elizabeth’s Church in Sidney, BC. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students. There will be other music and readings during the concert that will focus on themes of peace and remembrance. Sidney Museum & Archives – A Tribute to the Military
The Sidney Museum & Archives honours the men and women who served in World War I through an exhibit that shares veterans stories, feelings, and memories through artifacts, pictures, and texts. Visit the Sidney Museum & Archives in the month of November and remember those who have served this country.
