Have you ever wanted to experience the thrill of sailboat racing but weren’t sure where to start? The Sidney North Saanich Yacht Club (SNSYC) offers a welcoming and encouraging environment for sailors of all experience levels to get involved in racing.

First-time racers are invited to participate in one full race series—six races—absolutely free. After that, continuing as a guest racer costs only $60 per year, giving you access to over 50 races annually. Club members receive a discount, making this an affordable and fun way to enjoy life on the water.

New racers will be fully supported with mentorship from experienced club members. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to sharpen your competitive edge, SNSYC is committed to helping you succeed and enjoy the racing experience to the fullest.

Not quite ready to race your own boat? No problem—join as crew on another boat to build confidence and meet fellow sailors. If you’re looking to refine your sailing skills, SNSYC also offers adult sailing classes aboard their Martin 242 sailboats.

Worried about finding crew? SNSYC has a list of eager and experienced sailors who are ready to race. It’s a perfect opportunity to improve your sailing, learn the local waters, tides, and wind conditions, and meet new friends in a fun, social setting.
