On Sunday December 1, Butchart Gardens will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland with their 27th annual Christmas light up ceremony. Tens of thousands of lights are displayed each year, as well as Christmas displays, such as the popular Twelve Days of Christmas. In addition to the lights and decorations there will also be lively performances featuring traditional caroling and music.
To coincide with the Light-up Ceremony, the Gardens are offering free carousel rides with admission. Kids can also bring a paper snowflake to the Visitor Centre and exchange it for a free hot chocolate.
They will again be installing their 5,000 square foot outdoor skating rink for the public to enjoy through the holiday season. Skating is available daily during admission hours.
The Christmas display and the skating rink are open to the public from December 1 until January 6, 2014.
