Explore some of these fantastic Farmers’ Markets across lower Vancouver Island…and support local food growers!
Sidney Street Market: Every Thursday night from May to August, Sidney’s charming main street, Beacon Avenue, is closed to traffic and transformed unto one of the most spectacular, festive street markets in British Columbia. Over 150 vendors offer everything from locally grown produce, handmade jewelry, one of kind clothing, homemade bread, jams, fudge and so much more.
North Saanich Farm Market: Seasonal produce, baked goods, honey, eggs, arts & crafts all grown or made by North Saanich farmers and artists. Saturdays from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm from June 4th until October 8th.
Peninsula Country Market: This vibrant community market has more than 50 vendors weekly offering farm fresh products, jams and jellies, homemade bread, cut flowers, assorted fresh meats, organic produce and a fine selection of arts and crafts. From June 4th until October 8th on Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm.
Moss Street Market: 90+ vendors offering farm fresh, sustainable, local products, handmade crafts, and homemade food, with live local music. May until October: Saturdays from 10 am until 2 pm at Sir James Douglas School. November until April: Saturdays from 10 am until 12 pm in the Garry Oak Room.
Saltspring Island’s Market in the Park: Vendors at this market must ‘make it, bake it, or grow it’ themselves, and all products must be ‘vendor produced and sold’. Each Saturday, from Easter weekend (March 26th) through the last Saturday in October (29th). From approximately 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, rain or shine. During summer months, watch for vendors setting up closer to 8 am.
