Savour Cowichan Festival 2015

SavourCowichan2015Logobg100Savour Cowichan is an annual event celebrating Cowichan Valley’s outstanding array of of locally grown and produced food and drink. The Cowichan Valley is located about an hour’s drive north of Victoria and is situated in Canada’s only “Maritime Mediterranean climatic zone”. This means that the area is blessed with the warmest average year round temperatures of anywhere in the nation. So, it’s no surprise that the valley has become world renowned for a huge variety of farms and orchards. In the past twenty years this beautiful region has created a thriving artisanal industry consisting of wineries, cideries, distilleries, cheese makers, craft brewers, bakers and many more.

The festival spans over 10 days and each day guests will be able to visit local operations and talk to experts, like master winemakers, brewmasters and sommeliers. The other half of the event takes place in many of the area’s fine restaurants, where guests can indulge in tasting events, cooking classes, winemaker’s dinners and demonstrations by top chefs.

A portion of proceeds from the event are being donated to benefir the Canucks Autism Network, please click here for more information on this very worthy charity that benefits kids and families living with autism.
